One product. Three jobs. A whole new way to think about skincare.
Another cleanser? Another exfoliator? Another moisturiser?
Seriously. How many products does one face need?
At Formulae Prescott, we think it's time to challenge the beauty industry's obsession with more. More steps. More bottles. More products promising to transform your skin. What if your skincare could do more, with less?
Meet Tri-Balm: our award-winning, multitasking facial balm that cleanses, gently exfoliates and moisturises in one innovative formula. It's not about cutting corners. It's about cutting out the unnecessary. And if you've ever looked at Tri-Balm and wondered what it actually does, how you're supposed to use it, or why a balm deserves a place in your skincare routine, you're in exactly the right place.
Let's get into it.

First things first: what actually IS Tri-Balm?
Think of it as three essential skincare steps, reimagined in one clever product.
CLEANSE. EXFOLIATE. MOISTURISE.
That's the Tri-Balm philosophy.
Its rich, oil-based formula works to dissolve make-up and everyday impurities, while pumpkin enzymes help gently exfoliate and a considered blend of botanical oils and sodium hyaluronate helps maintain skin hydration.
No complicated layering. No bathroom shelf overflowing with half-used products. Just a smarter approach to looking after your skin.
And because Tri-Balm is waterless, you aren't paying for a product that's largely made up of water. You're getting a concentrated balm designed around the ingredients that do the work.
Now that's what we call multitasking.

Three jobs. One seriously clever balm.
1. Cleanse — without the squeaky-clean aftermath
Your cleanser should leave your skin feeling clean, not as though every last trace of moisture has been stripped away. Tri-Balm's botanical oils help dissolve make-up and everyday impurities, leaving skin feeling soft and comfortable. Massage it over dry skin and let the balm do its thing. No aggressive scrubbing. No need to turn cleansing into an endurance sport.
2. Exfoliate — give dull skin the brush-off
Dead skin cells can build up on the skin's surface, contributing to a dull or uneven-looking complexion. Tri-Balm contains pumpkin enzymes to help gently exfoliate, without relying on abrasive scrubbing particles. The aim? Skin that feels smoother and looks fresher, without turning your routine into a chemistry experiment.
3. Moisturise — because cleansing is only half the story
Here's where Tri-Balm goes beyond the conventional cleanser. Its blend of botanical oils, including oat, blackcurrant and echium, works alongside sodium hyaluronate to help soften the skin and support hydration. So while you're cleansing and exfoliating, you're also giving your skin some much-needed moisture.
Three functions. One formula. Fewer steps to think about.
OK, but how do you actually USE it?
We promise it's easier than your 12-step skincare routine might suggest.
Step 1: Apply
Glide the stick over dry skin, or take a small amount from the jar using clean fingertips or a small spatula.
Step 2: Massage
Work the balm gently over your face and neck in circular movements. Enjoy the process. Skincare doesn't have to be another task to tick off your list.
Step 3: Remove
Rinse with warm water or gently wipe away with a warm, damp muslin cloth or flannel. Follow the instructions for your particular Tri-Balm format.
Step 4: You're ready for the next step — if you need one
Follow with your preferred serum, moisturiser (which can be Tri-Balm itself) or other skincare products according to your skin's needs. Or keep things beautifully simple.
That's it. No complicated technique. No ten-minute tutorial required.
The questions we get asked most
Can I use Tri-Balm to remove make-up?
Absolutely. Tri-Balm can help dissolve make-up and everyday impurities. Massage gently over dry skin before rinsing or wiping away. For long-wearing or waterproof make-up, you may need an additional removal step. Take care around your eyes and follow the product directions.
Do I need a separate exfoliator?
Nope. Tri-Balm contains pumpkin enzymes to provide gentle exfoliation, so you do not need a separate exfoliating product, nor can you over-exfoliate using Tri-Balm.
Do I still need moisturiser?
That depends on your skin and your preference. Tri-Balm provides moisturising ingredients as part of its 3-in-1 formula, which you may find sufficient; some customers choose to finish up their routine with another moisturiser of their choice (which could be TRi-Balm as well, massaged in to the skin and left on. Think of Tri-Balm as a smart starting point, not a one-size-fits-all rule.
Can I use it every day?
Tri-Balm is designed to fit into a regular skincare routine, and can be used daily. Start gradually if you're new to enzyme exfoliation, particularly if you have sensitive skin or use retinoids or exfoliating acids.
Is it suitable for sensitive skin?
Skin sensitivity is individual. Tri-Balm contains nourishing botanical ingredients, but it also includes essential oils, which can be unsuitable for some reactive skin types. Check the ingredient list, introduce it cautiously and stop if irritation occurs.
Can I take it travelling?
That's one of the beauties of a multitasking, waterless balm. It brings three skincare functions together in one product, helping you streamline your routine when space is at a premium. Less bathroom clutter at home; less to pack when you're away.
Can Tri-Balm do anything else?
Oh, you bet. This multitasking marvel has a few more tricks up its sleeve. Think of it as your skincare secret weapon, ready to step in wherever your skin needs a little extra TLC. Leave it on as a mask when your complexion is craving an extra hit of hydration, massage it into dry hands and cuticles for a comforting dose of moisture, or mix a tiny amount with your foundation for that gorgeous, dewy, lit-from-within glow.
Travelling? Cabin air and high altitudes can leave skin feeling parched, so Tri-Balm is a handy companion to help keep moisture in and skin feeling comfortable.
It also doubles as an excellent shave balm, helping soften the skin and allowing the razor to glide more comfortably. From your bathroom cabinet to your carry-on, Tri-Balm proves that when it comes to clever skincare, three-in-one is just the beginning.

Why are we questioning the way skincare works?
Because the beauty industry has spent years convincing us that better skin means buying more. Another step for the morning. Another for the evening. Another product to fix the problem created by the last one. We know there is a better way. At Formulae Prescott, our approach is built around innovation, efficacy and conservation. We develop multitasking formulations designed to make skincare more straightforward, without losing sight of the ingredients and functions that matter.
Tri-Balm is a perfect example of that thinking: a waterless, multifunctional formula that challenges the traditional separation of cleansing, exfoliation and moisturising. We're not interested in adding another unnecessary step to your life. We're interested in making the steps you take count. That's skinimalism. And it's about time.
Your skincare routine just got a rethink.
If you've been curious about Tri-Balm, now you know what it is, what it does and how to use it. Whether you're streamlining your routine, looking for a more versatile cleanser or simply ready to question the contents of your bathroom cabinet, Tri-Balm is a different way to approach everyday skincare.
Three functions. One clever balm. A lot less faff.
