Who wants to spend hours putting on make-up, especially when it's hot? Definitely not me! So here's some good news. With a handful of multi-tasking make-up must-haves, you can sail through summer looking polished with the minimum of prep work.
When I'm pushed for time, but need to look presentable, I keep these double (and triple-duty) products close to hand. They really are worth the investment!
Nars The Multiple, £29. This is a real expert pick when it comes to speedy summertime make-up. The twist-up stick makes it highly-portable and it comes in a multitude of shades to suit all skin tones. For a two minute make-up, especially at the weekend or if you're off to the beach, use a little on eyelids, cheeks, temples and lips. It gives a flattering wash of shimmering colour – and you can build it up easily if you want a deeper glow.
Stila Convertible Colour, £16. I've long been a fan of Stila's clever multi-purpose Convertible Colour. The pop-it-in-your-pocket compact and dab-on creamy colour makes it indispensable for making-up on the go. And I love the 'pop' of colour it adds to cheeks – and lips. Brilliant when you only have room – and time - for one product.
Marc Jacobs Highliner Gel Eye Crayon, £20. If you want fast glamour-on-the-go, this glide-on eyeliner crayon is just the ticket. The gel texture ensures a precise line if you want a flattering flick but is also easy to smudge for a sexy, smoky eye.
Giorgio Armani Brow & Eye Maestro, £30. Here's a product that really deserves an award for being totally multi-tasking. Use this 'desert island' essential to define and fill-in sparse brows, as an easy-to-blend eyeshadow or eye pencil. And if that's not enough, Brow & Eye Maestro can even be used to sculpt and contour cheeks and to touch up your hairline – should it require a bit of filling in!
